"I loved your course! After researching several on-line Interior Design courses, I eagerly enrolled in the Interior Design Institute.  I was able to complete the course in just seven weeks.

A few years ago, I took some design courses at my local community college, but was unable to complete that program for several reasons.  At the time, I had two small children, so getting them off to school and racing to college became very stressful. Many times I would complete one course, only to find that the next course was not available, so I would have to wait until the next semester.  With this program, I was able to check my email every two or three days, work on my assignments and submit them at any time.  My tutor, Susan, was especially knowledgeable, and helpful, as was Student Support.  Everyone I communicated with on the staff was very professional and answered my questions quickly.

Hiring a designer is often considered a luxury by those who have been blessed with so much, however, during the past year, I’ve been volunteering with several organizations in my area, and began to realize that everyone can benefit from and deserves good design. We provide solutions. Our creativity and problem solving skills should also be available to those who have so little, and many times these are the people who could benefit the most.

The completion of this course has given me the confidence and the credentials to partner with a local non-profit organization, Family Nurturing Center of Georgia.  Our project will be called Nurturing Spaces and we will provide design services to other non-profit organizations, specifically transitional housing shelters and facilities which provide a safe haven of hope for so many who find themselves in difficult situations.

While taking the course, I was further inspired by the well written and informative modules.  As I completed each assignment, and was then given positive and encouraging feedback, my belief was further solidified that good design CAN inspire others to realize their own mission and visions.  A transformed environment can heal, encourage and challenge. It creates a sense of belonging, pride and maintains a connection to our well-being and security.

I’ve been designing homes and businesses for several years, but without a diploma, I sometimes felt intimidated by my lack of knowledge.  This course covered everything I needed to finally feel confident and adept in knowing that my decisions were on target. I especially enjoyed Module Two, on history, and Module Four on lighting.  By the end of the course, I was delighted in my sense of accomplishment, and I am very proud to be a graduate of the Interior Design Institute.

Thank you for a truly rewarding experience and providing me with my new mission to inspire others."

"The Interior Design Institute taught me so much! Not only do the modules teach you everything there is to know about Interior Design, it goes a step further and teaches you about the business aspect of the field.

Interior Design has always been a passion of mine. The Interior Design Institute was exactly what I needed to pursue my dream. I am now an owner of my very own Interior Design Studio! I already have three clients lined up that I am beginning to work with.

After hearing about my great experience with The Interior Design Institute, friends and family of mine are now taking it upon themselves to start the course! I found all of the modules to be very fulfilling and interesting.

I would complete one assignment, and right away move on to the next. I was so eager to read and learn more about Interior Design. My tutor was very helpful as well. She was constantly providing me with amazing feedback on all of my assignments submitted. If I had any questions at all about the modules I was able to contact student support at any hour of the day or night!

I also found the course to be extremely convenient. I would wake up in the morning, grab a glass of orange juice, and sit down with my laptop and learn about Interior Design!

I started out with very little knowledge in Interior Design and came out as a business owner holding a diploma. The completion of the 12 modules was very liberating to say the least. My experience with The Interior Design Institute was truly rewarding!"

"Flirting with forty made me realize I had better start pursuing my other passions! Interior design was always making appearances in my life but I was not confident enough to let it take a front seat.

I started researching schools and decided on your program! I am thrilled I did! It was educational, challenging, extremely interesting, and fulfilled my thirst for decorating, completely!

The support I received from my tutor was timely, precise and always more than I expected! I have gone from teaching small children, to designing small creative environments, to guiding all ages on how they can rediscover their personal style on THEIR budget!

I had my first client within three weeks; helped them pick out colors, flooring and  fabrics for their home and was rewarded by their satisfaction and joy they shared with me.A dream for me is to love my job, earn income, and make people happy!

I am looking forward to inspiring my clients, to continue to learn about the endless decorating possibilities, and most of all to keep the color in my life.

Thank you for making my dream a reality and validating my passion!"

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The Interior Design Institute changed my life. I knew I wanted formal training in design; I had specific requirements and didn't know if I was being unreasonable. When I began my research on what was being offered, I kept coming up to The Interior Design Institute.  I was very interested.

Sitting at home with a new baby made me realize that I would be out of the working field and I didn't want to waste any time getting started. So I enrolled. When my baby slept, I studied. All the information layered each module professionally. The course was so informative that when I went out on mini field trips into the study area, the store associates would ask me which design firm I worked for. The experiences the course afforded me were eye opening to family, my friends, and me.

While taking the course, I have been able to start and finish one project (a luxury apartment complex's business center). The confidence I felt in my decision-making was unbelievable. The property manager of that project called a friend of hers at another property and now I am in the process of starting another project. Unbelievable!

Wendi, my tutor, and student support, are very knowledgeable people. They inspired me to complete the course. Throughout the course, they gave their knowledge freely. They told me things that are working for designers in practice now. They always responded timely to my questions. My tutor was more like a silent partner as I approached each client. She helped me to build upon the knowledge the course offered.

For anyone thinking about enrolling in the course, I say: stop hesitating and enroll! The information is invaluable! The knowledge you gain, you use immediately. It’s like a switch is turned on and you now see what you have to offer the design world.  I don’t see anything the same. The course taught me to look for inspiration in everything. I’ve completed it and I would do it again!

I do plan on opening my own business. Thank you again!..."

"As an ex-model and amateur photographer, I already posses a strong artistic sense and good composition. I wanted to further enhance these skills and expand them to incorporate other facets of Design.

I wanted to develop my flair for fashion and have design credentials to validate my passion. I found this course to be both stimulating and challenging. The material is comprehensive and encompasses every aspect of design. It challenges you to think outside the box and look at the big picture.

I resided in Asia for 4 years and had the opportunity to experience the unique sights, sounds and cultures that help define Asian Design. This immersion is mirrored in the course and provided me with hands on experience that I can carry into the design world.

This course has made me acutely aware of my surroundings. I am perpetually looking around my environment for inspiration--the rich colors of the flowers, the ever changing palette of the sunset, the way light reflects off surfaces and the constant movement of nature.

My confidence has soared to a new level and I have already landed two jobs with family as a result of my Diploma. My mother-in-law has hired me to completely renovate her Tudor style house. She trusts me to bring inspiration and breathe some personality and updated style into the project.

One of the course Modules allowed me the opportunity to "practice" what I am going to be doing in reality really soon!! My mother lives in Canada and wants to fly me down to renovate her home as well!

I really feel a deep sense of pride that I can help others define their sense of style and bring it to life in their home!!

Thank-you to everyone at the Interior Design Institute, for your constructive criticism, sharing your breadth of knowledge and for being so personable. I was wary initially of taking a course on-line, but the staff made it a great learning environment! Sincerely, Karen."

"Thank you for the key to my passion. “I have always had an interest in renovating and organizing apartments, but never gave the interior design business a thought until I found myself watching HGTV every night and on weekends.

Interior design is far from my current career within the IT industry, but then again with a little creativity I can combine these industries and become a home office and/or home entertainment designer.

As with most people, time is money but when it comes to studying, the quality of the program is of the essence. Researching on the Internet I discovered that the Interior Design Institute had it all!

As I went through the online course my motivation kept growing and so did my passion. This course brings enough knowledge to those people who just want to be creative when re-designing their personal or friend’s residential space and it forms the foundation for people who want to continue the study to become a professional interior designer.

Thanks to the new tools and guidance provided by my tutor I can now take notice of many more details when I enter a room. It has also enabled me to become courageous with color schemes and explore my creativity when family and friends ask for advice. The fact that they ask for my recommendation indicate that I have already come far by taking this course.

Eventually I want to start my own business. For now I intend to further my studies and find new ways to broaden my experience within this area. All in all this online course is a great opportunity for anyone who want to explore the interior design world.”

"Initially, I took this course because of my love affair with HGTV. After years of watching, I finally came to the realization that I had interest in interior design!

I was reluctant to pursue this interest however, when I discovered the time and money necessary to pay for such an education. I could not commit seven years of my life and tens, of thousands, of dollars to find out whether I liked interior design, or just liked watching TV!

This affordable course gave me the opportunity to test my skills, without the overwhelming long-term commitment. The course was so flexible. I could work on it whenever I had free time, and I could have my course duration extended to fit my schedule.

The modules were informative and practical, and they allowed me to go as in-depth as I wished. Additionally, the assignments were both thought provoking and skill enhancing.

It is truly a great value for the money! I can’t tell you how proud I am of myself for completing the course; It was quite challenging. It has educated me in both the creative and business aspects of the career.

Thus, I am confident that I will continue to grow as a designer and that I will have the business sense to make money as I do. Now when I watch HGTV, instead of wasting time, I’m studying!

Though my family and friends have always valued my design opinions, now that I have my diploma, clients can trust my skills as well. In fact, I am already working with my first clients!

Not even halfway through the course, I was asked for my creative suggestions on a hip new restaurant in my hometown! While taking the course I have been working with the restaurant owners. I submitted some drawings of my ideas, and they‘ve been approved!

I have been commissioned to design (and hire a contractor to build) a creative industrial plant box/screen that will be used to hide the restaurants’ outdoor refrigerator. This piece will be the center of the garden patio, and is sure to bring me both a handsome check and future business!

I don’t know if I’ll ever be a full-time designer, but I do know one thing, if given the chance I would take this course again. My first project will likely make up for the course fee, not to mention, gain me a profit.

In the future, when I fulfill my life-long dream of owning a bed and breakfast, it will now have “designer rooms”. Plus, in the meantime, I can design my own residence in a way that expresses who I am and makes my life more enjoyable. I can’t wait to see my design visions materialize. Thanks to this course, my dreams will become reality."

"I must admit this course was much more intense & challenging than I expected – for which I am delighted. I certainly have a different respect for not only the interior design industry, but also for the creative design scholars themselves.

Every module was extremely interesting. I found myself writing pages of notes. I especially enjoyed the lesson on ‘color’. I never knew that the subject of color could be so broad & captivating

Completing this course has given me technical background information, resource material and overall basic knowledge of the interior design process. I understand now that this field is a constant learning process & I am only scratching the surface. However I do feel as though I’ve learned enough to feel comfortable in pursing this career, if I chose to do so.

My family & friends have been very supportive & encouraging. Ironically my friends have been telling me for years that “you’re good at what you do” and that “you could get paid for this’. Without a proper background in interior design, I would never feel comfortable charging anyone a fee for consultation services.

The main reason I decided to take this course was to expand my knowledge with my present day career, which is in the Real Estate Industry.  My husband & I are Real Estate Brokers & Developers. We have built speculative homes for more than twelve years. And this is what my friends are referring to – they see a finished house.

I have had the responsibility for supervising all aspects of residential construction, which I absolutely love. I make all decisions for the exterior of our homes, as well as, the interior. This ranges from roof shingles to siding material to types of windows for the exterior look. Interior decisions are numerous, from types of flooring, wall colors, cabinets & tops, plumbing, electrical, light fixtures, faucets down to the door handles. I especially enjoy completing the final grading & landscaping.

Learning more about architectural history, pigments of colors, electrical & lighting planning, space planning, the importance of light, home textiles & of course, the importance of art, will certainly help expand my knowledge & enhance my career.

I would highly recommend this course. One just needs a desire to learn & an interest in the design world.

A special thank you to my tutor, Leta. She has been very informative, consistent & very encouraging."

"The course offered by the Interior Design Institute was the perfect complement to my Bachelor of Arts degree. It gave me the knowledge I needed to confidently propose my designs to potential clients and learning online gave me great flexibility to finish the course in between design jobs!

It was fantastic... I could log on and get work done whenever it was most convenient for me. I work full time, so it was great not to be on someone else’s schedule. I did three of the modules while on a plane! The feedback I received from my tutor was thought-provoking. She presented well thought out critiques that sharpened my own design thoughts.

Meanwhile, the quick and thorough responses from the student support group provided welcome assistance whenever I got into trouble. I was amazed at how applied the information was, I found myself instantly applying what I had learned to everyday situations. I was not only considering how to make the most of a space, but giving convincing reasons for the changes I was proposing to everyone around me.

I was given three design jobs while completing the course and I have requests to work on three more. I’m anticipating that this course will be the beginning of an exciting new career for me..."

"I loved this course. It is amazing how it helped me and my restoration company. My husband and I own a disaster restoration company and we have had customers that wanted to take advantage of the water and fire damage to their property by remodeling.

I have always felt bad because I was incapable of helping our clients on their decisions and always had to contract an outside designer to help us. That is why I took the decision of getting into an online course, because of my lack of time and work commitments. I didn’t take the course very serious at the beginning because it was only a quick course, but after the first module I realized how much I was learning and eventually my husband noticed it as well when I would make suggestions to our clients.

I felt very confident with myself and that kept me interested in the course until I finished my last module. Actually I decorated our office and we get great compliments from every single person that walks into it, and that makes me very proud.

The assignments are very challenging and they made me realize that I was really learning and that kept me wanting more. I am originally from Mexico so this was scaring me at the beginning because I thought it was going to be hard to understand. When I sent the assignment to my tutor, I always felt that she was not going to be able to understand my ideas. But to my surprise it was perfect. I did every single assignment and my I was very excited every time I got my results back.

I love the fact that I am Mexican and have this special Latin touch and taste that a lot of people really like. I think it is amazing that you can do such a great course from your home and at your own pace.

There were times that I was so tired from work that I would be just thinking of resting and relaxing. Then I had a great idea of opening the modules on my blackberry and studying in the car or anywhere. I even studied from the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!

It was amazing how easy it was to go through this course. I am going to miss it but I can’t wait to have my diploma and hang it on the wall next to the hundreds that my husband has...”

"This course has helped me so much. After working in a design firm for a few months, I realized that I was going to need some help if I wanted to advance as a designer. So, I enrolled in The Interior Design Institute.

Soon after starting the course I could see my work skills improving. I recently took a look back at the work I had done a few months ago and was amazed to see how much I had improved!

After taking this course I feel much more confident about my ability to perform and I continue to improve my skills. The course outlined every important aspect of interior design. The modules and assignments were fun to do and taught me how to improve real world scenarios.

I loved the flexibility of the course. I was able to work full time, carry out a busy family life, go on vacations, and still get my diploma in interior design.

I’d always look forward to the feedback my tutor gave after every assignment. She encouraged me and motivated me to work harder.

With the skills I’ve learned throughout the course I’ve been able to do some work for my family and friends. I’ve been asked to help design a home office, bathroom, and living room. I’ve also been consulting some friends of mine who are opening up a small boutique store.

Thank you for all your help. I’m so glad that I’ve taken this course! ...”

"The Interior Design Course has been well worth it for the opportunities and satisfaction it has brought me. I had always had a keen interest in Interior Design since I was young and had experimented with occasional success in my own home as well as friends’ homes.  However it wasn’t until now that I decided it was time to study to obtain a formal Interior Design qualification.

With children, family and work commitments I needed to find an internationally recognized course which offered flexibility and a home study option. After much research I came across the Interior Design Institute and signed up for their Diploma in Interior Design.

My tutor, Mrs. Susan Weir, was so encouraging and supportive. I have gained and learnt so much through this course.

I must say that the course exceeded my expectations and was so interactive. The course materials were professionally written, the student support team were well trained and chosen, and the course was well laid out. This is an in-depth 12-module course providing a comprehensive introduction to interior design.

The course is ideal for the keen amateur designer and also a good foundation course for the professional. The course explores the whole design process from initial consultation with the client to producing working plans and a final sample board. It contains detailed practical advice on putting together and presenting a workable scheme.

The course also contains lots of professional tips on client liaison, project management and budgeting, with practical guidance on presentation techniques, as well as practical advice on plans, elevations, perspective drawings and sample boards.

Soon after my course I could see my work skills improving. I’d always look forward to the feedback my tutor gave after each assignment. I would highly recommend this course as it is very comprehensive, professionally run and while at times it was very demanding, it has been well worth it for the opportunities and satisfaction it has brought me.

I am proud to start my career as a professional Interior Designer in Mauritius and have already started some residential Interior Design projects for my clients.

Finally I was delighted in my sense of accomplishment, and I am very proud to be a graduate of the Interior Design Institute. My special appreciation and thanks go to my tutor Susan Weir at the Interior Design Institute for her constructive criticism, sharing all her knowledge and for being so supportive. Also many thanks to the Student Support Team who worked hard to make sure everything ran smoothly...”

"I have worked in the custom home business with my husband for the last six years, helping customers make all of their selections for the interior and exterior of their homes. So many of them were so nervous about building a new home because they were afraid they would make a fatal error in a major selection.

As I have worked with them, I have found there were times when I wished I could explain in technical terms why I was recommending a certain material or color or why a certain combination would work together while another wouldn't.

I have four children, run the custom home business with my husband, homeschool my children and in general have a lot going on, so there was no way I could consider a second degree in interior design, but I desperately wanted some training. I knew an online course would be perfect, as it would allow me to work at my own pace and work during the hours I had available.

I really enjoyed reading the materials and completing the assignments as I had time, and I now have a new level of confidence in my existing work.

I have also started a new business to help these same customers and others with decorating the insides of their homes once they move in. I have also ventured into remodeling, securing my first kitchen remodel while completing this course.

The reference library I now have of the twelve modules also provides me with a quick way to refresh my memory on specific topics as needed down the line. I plan on referring back to the material in the future and using it to increase the value I can offer to others..."
