Come and step into, a life less ordinary

About Me

I want to invite you to step outside of your ordinary world, challenge your design creativity and uncover the beauty in your surroundings.

Growing up I enjoyed many forms of art including drawing, painting sculpture and photography. All of my spare time was devoted to finding the beauty in all things around me through colour, shape and texture. I was repeatedly drawn to the abstract shapes and the expansive colour palette found in nature. These elements of design still inspire me to this day and I am constantly amazed by the beauty that surrounds us.

On leaving school it was clear what direction I needed to follow. Originally I wanted to be an artist but the idea of starving was not appealing, so I decided to study Graphic Design and then went on to work in the industry for many years. This more formal approach to studying art (and subsequence work experience) provided me with a more structured approach to design by obtaining the tools that make up the framework of design that I still use to this day.

I try to emulate nature and have a simple approach to interior design. My aim is to eliminate the unnecessary and give all of the elements the space required to show off their beauty. My design approach is a practical one where everything should have a function and a place not unlike the core fundamentals of the Arts and Crafts Movement in which one of the founding members William Morris said one of my favourite design quotes “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful”.

My Work

Taking my design cues from nature, I like to surround myself with colour, not just the obvious colour palette that you would normally associate with nature (earth, sea, plant colours) but also the wildly expansive colour palette found in all forms of fauna and flora.

Just like the male bird looking to attract a mate with his colourful plumage, my ideal colour palette would be wildly expressive.
