I grew up in Sydney, Australia, with Filipino and Northern Irish roots. When I was little, I wanted to be a popstar (that’s right, folks - another Filipino with a microphone!). I spent 15 years working in live music across ticketing, events and touring, and eventually managing music festivals.
But when I came up for air, I found myself kind of dream-adjacent and not particularly happy. I took a year off, watched a lot of TED Talks and did a homegrown deep dive into an eclectic tapestry of hobbies. It didn’t take me long to realise I had had my shoes on the wrong way ‘round the whole time.
Interior design has been my quiet remedy since I was about 10 years old, insatiably rearranging my 12sq m bedroom in an attempt to optimise the space to practice rollerblading (one of the aforementioned hobbies). I am only sorry it took me so long to see the modernist architecture for the boyband posters.
