Meghan Yang

Meghan Yang has a bachelor's degree in interior design and has had her own interior design business since 2009. Growing up with a father who did commercial construction in the Los Angeles area, she has always been engulfed in the industry.

Meghan's work ranges from residential to small commercial work, with an emphasis on new builds and major renovation. Although her personal design aesthetic is clean contemporary, she loves layering styles and always represents the client's personal taste in their space. She finds inspiration from art, fashion, and traveling.

Over the past five years, she has designed multiple homes selling for upwards of 8 million dollars. Meghan's work on these types of projects has broadened her already vast knowledge of codes, space planning, materials, and full service design.

Meghan is excited to share her experience in design and working with contractors and architects with our students.

After successfully completing his bachelor of architecture at The University of Technology, Robert worked for several years in an exceptionally reputable and exclusive firm.

With this experience, Robert joined his family’s successful interiors business specializing in interior fittings and finishes, particularly kitchen and bathroom design.

Ashley Vancardo

Ashley is the creative behind Homemate, where her services include interior decorating, professional organizing, and freelance assignments.

Nothing excites Ashley more than the process of space planning, interior styling, and making a space live up to its full potential. Helping homeowners make their personal space work for their family and lifestyle is what keeps her motivated.

Ashley is a very proud graduate of The Interior Design Institute. Through our course, she acquired the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue her dream of being a creative entrepreneur. She also has a great deal of independent real estate staging experience and professional administration from past positions held with one of the top five banks in the world, in the mortgage administration and sales support departments.

In addition to working with clients to improve their lives, she enjoys taking care of her family, playing with her dogs, reading, and exercising. Some of her work has been featured in trade magazines, local publications, and the school prospectus. She also recently became a certified professional organizer, which works hand in hand with interior design.

Sophie Seeger

Sophie Seeger runs Seeger By Design, a creative company for interior design, decorating, property styling, color consulting and art sourcing.

Sophie was immersed in art and design from a very young age, having “caught the bug” from her grandmother, a sculptor, and both art-loving parents.

She studied the history of art, color and design, interior design and journalism. Her career to date has successfully married her passion for art, design and writing.

While running a contemporary art and design gallery, Sophie developed a commission base for her paintings and also discovered her joy for commercial design development, identifying sustainable opportunities and incomes for artists and designers.

This led to two Indigenous rug and textile ranges with licensed deals for clients, including DFAT, Qantas and public libraries. Sophie has a licensing deal for her own abstract art and has works in private collections throughout Australia, South Africa, the US, UK, Denmark and Singapore.

Sophie has worked as an art and design mentor and a guest curator, and she continues to work on residential and boutique retail interior design projects.

She is a contributor for Houzz and a member of the DIA.

Evette Annandale

Her career saw her become a well rounded interior designer, gaining experience in residential, hospitality, commercial and retail design.

The philosophy of being a creative problem solver enabled her to first become an established freelancer and eventually ensured that Annandale Design could take flight.

Evette's company specializes in conceptual, retail and office design, taking pride in high level technical details merging effortlessly with art and design. She is always inspired to create spaces of high quality that are authentic and loyal to each client and brief. More recently, Evette launched a connective hub and sourcing platform called Design Central, which people can use to create beautiful homes.

Evette is also a registered professional interior designer and professional architectural draftsperson with her local authorities (IID & SACAP).

Talin Leask

Talin's interior design career started upon graduation from the Academy of Design in Montreal, Canada.

She traveled to Dubai where she worked with large architectural and design practices, working on large hotels, residential projects and retail outlets in newly built shopping malls across the city.

After moving to London, she was able to work for Greenline Interiors, which specialized in yacht interiors, and for large scale royal residents based in the Middle East.

Having founded her own company some years ago, she has managed to build her own clientele and has worked on refurb projects across the city as well as being involved in new build apartment projects in newly developed areas of London. She works closely with clients who have requested her expertise in office layouts, retail units and is currently working on a few commercial projects.

She stayed there for ten years before working with theatre producers, such as Michael Edgley, Kevin Jacobson and Cameron Macintosh.

Her twenty-five year career in theatre took her around the world where she educated herself in architecture and interior design.

Marieke Rijksen

Qualified as a business analyst and marketer, Marieke first built a successful international career in marketing and business development within the medical industry. Next to her career in marketing, Marieke pursued her life-long interest in beautiful interiors and graduated from IDI in 2013.

Fast forward a few years and numerous home renovations, she built a social media presence and shares her signature style online with a few snippets of daily life. Being an IDI graduate herself, she knows how to professionalise a passion for interior but also what it’s like to combine the course with the usual day-to-day commitments.

Her daily inspiration comes from her family, her home, the world around us, and travelling. She has a wonderful, tolerant surfy husband, a teenage son who loves anything prehistoric, a doggy obsessed tween girl, an eternal desire to shuffle everything around in my home, a passion for vintage, upcycling and DIY and holds both a Dutch and Australian passport. She lives an expat life in her home on the canals of Haarlem, in The Netherlands.

I started out with very little knowledge in Interior Design and came out as a business owner holding a Diploma. The completion of the 12 modules was very liberating to say the least. My experience with The Interior Design Institute was truly rewarding!
